Covering the future of Counter-Strike
what new features will counter-strike: source have?
At the forefront of change, Counter-Strike: Source will include a brand new, realistic physics engine, complete with "ragdoll" deaths. Crates and barrels are no longer stationary, as they will move with bullet impacts, explosions, and player collisions with objects (read: pushing). While we are uncertain as to how the physics engine will account for gun and bullet behavior, we do know that CS: Source will be much more realistic in the physics department than previous versions of Counter-Strike that have ran under the Half-Life 1 engine.

In addition to the physics engine powering much of the gameplay, most of the new features are in the graphics department. Powered by the engine behind Half-Life 2—the Source engine—Counter-Strike: Source features the latest in graphics technology.
