Electronic Arts has revealed that all of those who purchase and own the <i>Medal of Honor Limited Edition</i> will receive an invite to join in on the beta when it goes live.  The bad news?  The beta doesn't have a release date and can arrive any time between the release of Medal of Honor or up to a <i>full year</i> after its release.<br />

PC Gamer just tossed up an interview with the Indie developer that talks about Minecraft's origins up through what lies ahead for the game even <i>beyond</i> the Survival multiplayer inclusion.<br />

Notch:</b> When Minecraft has working survival mode multiplayer, it will have all the features I originally wanted, so I will declare that to be the finished version. Then I will keep working on the game for as long as people play and buy it, adding large and small features and releasing them as free updates to the game. I have many more games I want to do, but there's so much potential in Minecraft that I can see myself working on it for a long time.<br />
<br />
Once the game stops selling and I've moved on to something else, I will release most of the game as open source (excluding the parts I am not the original author, such as the sounds), so that other people can keep expanding the game.</blockquote><br />
A few additional things to note here.  Notch <a href="http://notch.tumblr.com/post/875499109/im-going-all-gaga-now-1000-sales-in-24-hours" target="_blank"><b>recently revealed</b></a> that he will release the Survival multiplayer before he leaves for BIGJam next week.  Once this happens, the price of the game will rise to 14.95 euro and the game will "officially" be in beta status.  After what is presumably going to be a lengthy beta period, the game will be out of beta and the price will increase to 19.95 euro.  So, if you want to get in on Minecraft while the price is at the lowest it will be for a while, you had best act fast.<br />
<br />
It should also be mentioned that for the time being, water and liquid behavior within Minecraft will not be touched "until the rest of the game is in place." First up, we have the rumor that Valve is in talks with Markus Persson, aka: Notch, about <i>something</i>.  Between last night's blog entry on the <i>Team Fortress 2</i> blog that did nothing but praise <i>Minecraft</i> and Notch and a <a href="http://notch.tumblr.com/post/872082315/minecraft-in-tf2-so-very-awesome#comment-64981710" target="_blank"><b>comment posting</b></a> on a blog entry from Notch, it looks like Valve has taken a liking to the very Indie developer.<br />
<br />

Now obviously, this could mean one of any number of things.<br />
<br />
<blockquote><ol class="decimal"><li>It could just be that Valve wanted to personally congratulate Notch for what he's managed to accomplish.  Something a little more personal than a mere blog entry on the TF2 Blog.</li>
<li>Perhaps Valve have extended a job offer to Notch to come work at Valve.  As mentioned, Notch is just one developer who is working on Minecraft.  This is a real possibility that they want his talents or ideas for future Valve titles.</li>
<li>Maybe Valve just wanted to thank Notch for what he's done, and offer him a free trip to Valve HQ for a friendly visit.  Or gift baskets may be involved with some Valve swag.</li>
<li>It may be that Valve wants to distribute Minecraft through Steam.  What this would mean for current owners of the game though is anybody's guess.  It also does not shed any light on whether or not the price of the game will go up beyond what was already expected to happen once the game's multiplayer Survival is released.</li>
</ol></blockquote><br />
Right now this is pure speculation on anybody's part.  These were just thoughts gathered from, non-committal, sometimes cryptic comments Notch has made on his <a href="http://twitter.com/xnotch" target="_blank"><b>Twitter</b></a> and <a href="http://notch.tumblr.com/" target="_blank"><b>Tumblr</b></a>, and the fact that Valve wishes to speak with him about something.<br />
<br />
Who knows, perhaps it was nothing more than just an attempt by Valve to get Notch to add hats to Minecraft.  <i>We will see.</i><br />
<br />
In other, somewhat related news, Minecraft managed to increase its sales by 1,000 in a span of just 24-hours.  Perhaps spurred on by the love thrown its way by the Team Fortress 2 blog.</div>

<blockquote><b>The Intel QUAKE LIVE Masters Championship</b><br />
The Intel QUAKE LIVE Masters Championship will feature known professionals and top QUAKE LIVE competitors in their own exclusive tournament. Sixty-four (64) of the world's best QUAKE LIVE players will face-off in the 1 vs.1 duel for more than $25,000 in a double elimination bracket, with each match played in a best-of-three-games format.  With two competitors remaining, thousands will gather to watch as these two best-of-the-best survivors go head-to-head in a single elimination, best-of-five-games throw-down with a $14,000 check written to the champion.  Matches will feature a pool of five arenas.<br />
<br />
<b>The QUAKE LIVE Capture the Flag Championship </b><br />
The Capture the Flag Championship will feature 4 vs. 4 competitions for up to 32 teams battling it out in a single elimination bracket and best-of three-games format using five arenas. Players who come out on top will share prizes of $25,000, including $14,000 for the team of champions.  Matches in the CTF tournament will feature five arenas.<br />

<b>The QUAKE LIVE Open Tournament</b><br />
Available for up to 128 amateurs and up-and-coming competitors, the QUAKE LIVE Open will offer players a taste of the excitement and pressure of professional gaming. Battling for a share of $2,500, including $1,500 for the champion, players will compete in a single elimination bracket, with each match played in a best-of-three-games format.  Matches for the Open Tournament will feature the same five arenas as the Masters Championship.  <br />

<b>Registration Information</b><br />
Players with professional gaming experience or extensive QUAKE LIVE experience can pre-register by going to   <a href="http://www.quakecon.org/tournament" target="_blank">www.quakecon.org/tournament</a> between July 27th and August 8th or register on site at QuakeCon from 9:00am to noon CST on Thursday, August 12. Competitors qualified for the Intel QUAKE LIVE Masters Championship and The QUAKE Live Capture the Flag Championship will be selected and seeded by a committee of experts at the close of registration. Players selected for the Intel QUAKE LIVE Masters Championship are not eligible for the Open Tournament.<br />

First up is the fact that a Tank figurine  will soon be released by <a href="https://www.gamingheads.com/" target="_blank"><b>the IP Factory</b></a>, the same team that released a number of <i>Team Fortress 2</i> figures.<br />

Secondly, the L4D2 blog details a few upcoming changes to the game's versus mode, notably focusing on the Charger and point distribution.<br />

<blockquote>While we were testing other changes with the Charger, we were bothered that doing the right thing did not give you the best score. New players were often confused by this lack of feedback, so we fixed that.<br />
    - Charger now receives 300 points for any Survivor that is insta-killed.<br />
    - Charger now receives 100 points for any Survivor that is insta-incapped by a charge.<br />
    - Any infected that causes a Survivor to stumble into a "ledge hang" situation will receive 50 points.<br />
<br />
Friendly fire is never fun, especially when it really isn’t friendly fire. So in both Versus and Co-op we wanted to remove those times when you receive a friendly fire warning for shooting through an infected.<br />
    - Bullets that first pass through an infected character before striking a Survivor are now ignored as friendly fire.<br />
<br />
Failing at the Tank is miserable experience. We all know the feeling when you are trying to explain to your team - but he was already on fire! So we did some work there.<br />
    - Tanks go into a stasis when they spawn and leave stasis when the human player takes over.<br />
    - Tanks do not attack when they are in stasis.<br />
    - Tanks in stasis are invisible but still show a glow to the infected team.<br />
    - Tanks in stasis cannot be set on fire.</blockquote><br />

Those who redeemed their free DLC code early with their purchase of a new copy of the game are finding out that they cannot download the DLC pack just yet. Alpha is being directed by Academy award-winners Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy, the team behind the amusing and very popular short film, <a href="http://vimeo.com/10149605" target="_blank"><b>Logorama</b></a>.  The story for Alpha will be written by Children of Men's Tim Sexton and Logorama's Gregory Pruss.<br />
<br />
Alpha is slated for a vague 2011 release, potentially alongside the release of the delayed Future Soldier game.  No word has been announced yet as to how the film will be distributed.</div>

There is a catch however.  The catch is that the maps are being tested only on official Valve CS: Source servers.  You <i>can</i> play and test them, but you have to join up on servers using the "Valve" tag testing these maps.<br />

First of all I would like to explain who I am and why I made this post.<br />
<br />
I am an admin of a league called eXtreme Soccer League (XSL) which is a Counter Strike Source Soccer League based in Europe and North America which was created in 2006. The popularity of this &quot;mod&quot; has grown since then and the league has grown to a well known competition and community.<br />

This league plays as well as any other league which also hosts cups and public tournaments that are arranged by members of our community or of course official cups which are run by the league staff itself.<br />

Never played CS:S soccer before?<br />
<br />
Well here is a few tips.<br />
<br />
* Running around chasing the ball gets you nowhere. So try finding a space on the pitch and wait for a teammate to pass to you.<br />
* Hitting the ball can be a tough task sometimes on its own, especially if you have never played before. Easiest way of hitting the ball is aim your cursor on the centre of the ball and use your left mouse button to hit it.<br />
* Aiming the ball is pretty simple, just point the direction you want to aim and then hit the ball. Another easy way to hit the ball is to crouch.<br />
* You may see some players using the wall and other types of skill to hit the ball. Don't worry all that will come with time and practice. But remember its nice to be nice and have fun.<br />

Please note: This is only a very basic description for new players.<br />

Well that explains a little about us and a very basic description about playing, you're probably wondering why I'm here. Well I'm here to invite your clan/community to a tournament being hosted by XSL.<br />
